Maroun Sfeir

Maroun Sfeir is an experienced electoral researcher and consultant with a focus on improving electoral processes in the MENA region. Currently serving as Lead Electoral Researcher at The International Foundation for Electoral Systems since April 2020, Maroun has designed and managed research projects analyzing Syrian elections. As an Electoral Consultant for the National Democratic Institute since February 2017, Maroun has provided technical assistance and training to local election observation groups and assessed political environments for effective election observation programming. Previous roles include managing elections programs in Nepal and Cambodia, conducting media analyses for the EU Election Experts Mission in Jordan, and contributing to civic education initiatives in Egypt and Lebanon. Maroun holds a Master's degree in Political Management from The George Washington University and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Lebanese Canadian University.
