Cliona Mooney has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Cliona started their career as a Communications Planning Manager at Pigsback.com in 2005 and worked there until 2008. Cliona then moved on to Ireland.com, where they served as a Marketing & Communications Manager from 2008 to 2010. Cliona joined The Irish Times in 2010 as a CRM Specialist and held this position until 2014 when they transitioned to the role of Business Analytics Manager. Cliona was later promoted to Head of Subscriptions and Reader Insights in 2018 and further promoted to Subscriptions and Reader Insights Director in 2021. Currently, they hold the position of Group Data Analytics & Insights Director at The Irish Times, starting in July 2023.

Cliona Mooney attended Dublin City University from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained a BBS degree in Business with Marketing. From 2003 to 2005, they studied Public Relations at PRII.
