Deirdre Veldon

Group Managing Director at The Irish Times

Deirdre Veldon is the current Group Managing Director at The Irish Times. Deirdre has been with the company since December of 1999, starting as the Managing Editor of Development and Operations. In this role, they were responsible for development projects at The Irish Times, notably those affecting its evolution as a digital media organisation. Deirdre also had operational responsibility that included the management of editorial staff and resources as well as budgets. After almost 18 years with the company, they were promoted to their current position.

Deirdre Veldon has a Master's degree in International Relations from Dublin City University, a Higher Diploma in Applied Communications from University of Galway, and a Bachelor of Arts - BA in English and French from University of Galway.

They are on a team with and Paul Mulvaney - Managing Director. Deirdre Veldon reports to Paul O'Neill, Editor.
