Ryan Coulter

Founder and Chief Creative Officer at The James Brand

Ryan Coulter has had a diverse work experience, beginning in 1998 when they were the Global Creative Director and Snowboard Binding Product Manager at Burton Snowboards. In 2006, they joined Nike as the Director of Product Innovation for Nike SST, followed by a role as Second Guide at Baldface Lodge in Nelson, B.C. In 2009, they co-founded Uncommon, acting as Partner, Co-Founder and General Manager. In 2010, they became Creative Director at Ziba Design and in 2013 they took on the role of Managing Director at Jager Di Paola Kemp Design. In 2014, they joined Nike again, this time as Entrepreneur In Residence, Senior Digital Experience Innovator for Nike NXT and Global Experience Director for NIKEiD. Finally, in 2011, they founded The James Brand and has been the Chief Creative Officer ever since.

Ryan Coulter obtained a B.A. in Industrial Design from Purdue University between 1990 and 1995. Ryan then attended ArtCenter College of Design's Art Center At Night program for Industrial Design. Ryan also holds certifications from the Federal Aviation Administration as a Commercial Aircraft Pilot and a Rotorcraft Pilot, as well as a Wilderness First Responder certification.
