Sophie-May Clarke is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in journalism and media relations. Currently serving as a Communications Executive at The Jockey Club since August 2022, Sophie-May manages communications across several racecourses in the West of England. Prior to this role, Sophie-May held various positions at the Lancashire Telegraph, culminating in a promotion to Chief Reporter for Court & Crime after excelling as a Senior Court & Crime Reporter, where responsibilities included delivering impactful stories on significant legal events. Sophie's experience extends to a data journalism secondment at BBC News and an early career as a trainee reporter at the Lancashire Telegraph, where foundational skills in reporting, interviewing, and storytelling were developed. Additionally, Sophie-May’s background includes roles in publishing and horse management, complemented by journalism degrees from Northumbria University and Dublin Business School.
