Karen Nelson is an accomplished violinist with extensive experience in various musical roles. Currently serving as a violinist with The Joffrey Ballet since 2002 and as Principal Second Violin with the Chicago Sinfonietta since 1987, Karen has contributed significantly to the classical music scene. In addition, Karen has owned Nelson Music Contracting since 1975, specializing in booking musical entertainment for various events, including weddings and corporate gatherings, with ensembles performing a diverse range of styles from classical to jazz. Karen's educational background includes a B.A. in Elementary Education from Luther College and advanced violin studies under notable instructors associated with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
