The Ringling
Marissa Hershon is a seasoned art historian and curator, currently serving as the Curator of Ca’ d’Zan and Decorative Arts at The Ringling since May 2019, where responsibilities include overseeing preservation efforts and advancing research of the historic estate. Previous experience includes roles such as Independent Curator and Art Historian, where Marissa published significant articles and conducted extensive research, and Curatorial Assistant at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, focusing on exhibitions and collections in decorative arts. Marissa's career also encompasses fellowships and positions at notable institutions including the Chrysler Museum of Art and Smithsonian American Art Museum, showcasing a diverse expertise in curatorial practices, exhibition planning, and collections management. Marissa holds an M.A. in History of Decorative Arts from Corcoran College of Art + Design and a B.A. in Art History from Tulane University.
