Charanpreet Singh Johal

Charanpreet Singh Johal is a highly experienced engineering professional currently serving as Chief Engineer of Mechanical Fabrication at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory since January 2019. In this role, Charanpreet leads manufacturing engineering efforts for various advanced spacecraft, including Europa Clipper, DART, Dragonfly, and IMAP, overseeing multiple instruments such as PIMS, EIS, and MEGANE. Previously, Charanpreet held positions at Northrop Grumman Corporation as a Flight Test Aero Structural Engineer, focusing on the design and analysis of experimental aircraft, and at Maritime Applied Physics Corporation as a Designer and Draftsman. Early experience includes an internship at Harbor Tool and Die Corp, where foundational skills in tool and die design and manufacturing were developed. Charanpreet holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Howard University.
