Abby Jitendra is a policy expert with extensive experience in social policy and research, currently serving as the Principal Policy Adviser for Care, Family & Relationships at the Joseph Rowntree Foundation since October 2022. Jitendra focuses on developing a program addressing childcare and the care economy, emphasizing the importance of care in reducing poverty. Prior to this role, Jitendra was the Principal Policy Manager for Energy at Citizens Advice, co-leading a team tackling the cost of living and energy crises, and also held roles in social policy campaigns. Jitendra's earlier experience includes managing policy and research for The Trussell Trust, contributing to initiatives aimed at alleviating hunger, and serving as a policy advisor intern at the Home Office. Jitendra's educational background includes an MPhil in the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology and a BA in Politics, Psychology & Sociology, both from the University of Cambridge.
