The Juniper Center
Dr. N Karen Thames, PsyD, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in providing telehealth services specializing in trauma, marital therapy, personality disorders, chronic illnesses, women's empowerment, anxiety, and depression at The Juniper Center since January 2021. As the Founder and Executive Director of The EPIC Foundation since November 2016, Dr. Thames advocates for and supports individuals affected by chronic illness by offering education and resources. Previous clinical experience includes serving as a Licensed Clinical Psychologist at Barnes and Klatt and PRA: Perakis, Resis, Woods, and Associates, focusing on comprehensive therapy for children, adolescents, and adults in group practice settings. Dr. Thames earned a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

The Juniper Center provides expert, individualized care by 60+ clinicians in five Chicagoland locations and throughout the state of Illinois via teletherapy. The Juniper Center specializes in trauma recovery, depression and anxiety, diverse sexuality and gender identities, addiction treatment, and relationship and family therapy. Founded by Dr. Margo Jacquot in 1996, The Juniper Center is one of the largest women-owned counseling and therapy practices in the area, and provides counseling and psychotherapy, psychiatry and medication management, therapeutic yoga and movement therapy, and psychological testing services for all ages. The Juniper Center takes its name from the juniper tree: Resilient beyond measure, growing and thriving in the most barren of places; shaped by the wind and sun, its trunk becomes a beautiful, majestic sculpture amidst treacherous terrain.
