Mariann Smith, LCPC, LMFT, CADC, is an experienced mental health professional with a diverse background in therapy and counseling. Currently serving as a Mental Health Therapist at The Juniper Center since July 2016, Mariann has previous experience as a Case Manager at Keys to Recovery from August 2016 to August 2019 and worked as a Therapist at Kallmann Counseling and Consulting from December 2013 to August 2016. Additionally, Mariann contributed to the academic field as an Adjunct Teacher in Psychology and Human Services at Oakton Community College from May 2011 to May 2018. Early experiences include roles as Clinical/Community Education Coordinator at The Josselyn Center and School Counselor/Therapist at Alexian Brothers Hospital Network. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Adler University and a Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Sciences from National Louis University.

The Juniper Center specializes in trauma recovery, depression and anxiety, diverse sexuality and gender identities, addiction treatment, and relationship and family therapy. Founded by Dr. Margo Jacquot in 1996, The Juniper Center is one of the largest women-owned counseling and therapy practices in the area, and provides counseling and psychotherapy, psychiatry and medication management, therapeutic yoga and movement therapy, and psychological testing services for all ages. The Juniper Center takes its name from the juniper tree: Resilient beyond measure, growing and thriving in the most barren of places; shaped by the wind and sun, its trunk becomes a beautiful, majestic sculpture amidst treacherous terrain.
