The Juniper Center
Nicole Varvarezos, MSW, LCSW, is an experienced therapist currently employed at The Juniper Center since November 2018 and at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital since July 2017, where responsibilities include conducting assessments, facilitating psychoeducation groups, and providing crisis intervention in the Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program. Prior experience includes an internship at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital and a graduate assistant role at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Counseling Center, focusing on eating disorders. Nicole holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the same institution. Additional early experience includes roles in a counseling center and as a camp counselor.

The Juniper Center specializes in trauma recovery, depression and anxiety, diverse sexuality and gender identities, addiction treatment, and relationship and family therapy. Founded by Dr. Margo Jacquot in 1996, The Juniper Center is one of the largest women-owned counseling and therapy practices in the area, and provides counseling and psychotherapy, psychiatry and medication management, therapeutic yoga and movement therapy, and psychological testing services for all ages. The Juniper Center takes its name from the juniper tree: Resilient beyond measure, growing and thriving in the most barren of places; shaped by the wind and sun, its trunk becomes a beautiful, majestic sculpture amidst treacherous terrain.
