Celisa Calacal

Celisa Calacal has a diverse range of work experience in journalism and media. Celisa most recently worked at The Beacon as a Civic Engagement + Economics Report and Assistant Editor. Prior to that, they interned at KCUR 89.3, where they worked as a Central Standard Intern and a News Intern, covering stories and producing content for various platforms. Celisa also worked at The Ithacan as Year In Review Editor, overseeing the production of a magazine, and at WICB 91.7 FM as a Reporter and Newscaster, producing news stories and features for a podcast. Celisa has also worked as a Junior Writing Fellow at AlterNet, an Opinion Editor and Life & Culture Editor at The Ithacan, an Intern at ThinkProgress, a Staff Writer at The Odyssey, and held various roles at Media by Massie and the Ithaca College Admissions Office.

Celisa Calacal attended Ithaca College from 2014 to 2018, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism.
