The Kelsey
Micaela Connery is the co-founder and CEO of The Kelsey, a company that focuses on disability-forward housing solutions. Micaela is responsible for co-developing affordable, accessible, and inclusive housing, as well as leading advocacy and field-building efforts. Under their leadership, The Kelsey has unlocked over $110 million in funds, engaged over 1700 advocates, and has two sites with 225+ homes in the pipeline. Prior to founding The Kelsey, Micaela worked as a research fellow at Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies, where they led research on disability housing. Micaela also founded and served as the CEO of Unified Theater, an organization empowering youth and promoting inclusivity. During their time there, they expanded programs into six states, led strategic planning, and established partnerships with major brands and professional theaters. Micaela also briefly worked as an impact blogger for The Huffington Post.
Micaela Connery attended Conard High School from 2000 to 2004. Micaela went on to study at the University of Virginia from 2004 to 2009, completing a BA in the Distinguished Majors Program. In the years 2014 to 2016, Micaela pursued a Master in Public Policy (MPP) at the Harvard Kennedy School. Continuing their education, they then attended the University College Dublin in 2016-2017, where they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.).
