Ioana Ilie is currently a Laboratory Assistant at the University of Ottawa, involved in eco-evo-devo biology and developmental genetics under Dr. Rajendhran Rajakumar since June 2022. Ioana serves as a Volunteer Commissioner for the UWO Humanitarian Society, focusing on community outreach and awareness of humanitarian crises. Additionally, as the First Year Representative of Events for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Ioana engages in planning and innovative strategies to promote kidney disease awareness. Previous experience includes a role as a Project Analyst at Canadian Bank Note Company, where finance reporting and data visualization on Power BI were key responsibilities, as well as a summer internship at Canadian Blood Services. Earlier roles included customer service at The Home Depot and co-presidency at HOSA-Future Health Professionals, facilitating engagement and educational opportunities in health careers. Ioana is pursuing a Bachelor of Science at Western University, with a strong foundational education from the International Baccalaureate program and Colonel By Secondary School.
