Henry G. Morriello is Chair of the Finance Department and Chair of the Structured Finance Group at Kaye Scholer LLP. Mr. Morriello represents clients in U.S. and international term securitization and commercial paper conduits involving residential and commercial mortgage loans, home equity loans, equipment leases, student loans, aircraft loans and leases, auto paper, trade receivables, intellectual property royalties, and esoteric assets.
Recently, he has represented global financial institutions in groundbreaking governmental financial assistance transactions, and troubled financial asset portfolio sales and liquidations. He has also been active in forming investment funds to purchase distressed assets, which, in certain cases, have utilized government debt/equity programs. Mr. Morriello has extensive experience in the restructuring of many failed SIVs, SIV Lites and mortgage conduits. He also represents clients worldwide in structuring and restructuring fixed income and credit derivatives of all types. Mr. Morriello was recognized as a leader for Capital Markets — Securitization in Chambers Global and Chambers USA, where it was noted that he had “risen to the challenges of a tough market” and that “clients praised his breadth of knowledge and attention to detail.”
He is also described by clients as “extremely diligent and great at breaking down an issue into a digestible number of bitesized chunks.” Mr. Morriello is a frequent lecturer at conferences across the country and abroad on topics that include asset/mortgage securitization, structured product workouts and restructurings, transportation finance, real estate finance, and alternative investments.
