Dr. Anthony M. King

Dr. Anthony M. King has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Dr. Anthony M. is currently serving as the Executive Director of External Engagement at The Leadership Academy. Prior to this, they co-founded First Water Consultants, where they provided coaching, training, and strategic planning for organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion. Dr. Anthony M. also supported school systems and leaders in improving their leadership practice and team performance through strategic planning and leadership coaching.

Dr. King has also held the position of Director of Continuous Improvement at the Sonoma County Office of Education. At Education First Consulting, they were the Director of Strategic Leadership & Inclusion, leading the firm's agenda on race, inclusion, diversity, and equity. Dr. Anthony M. also worked as a Harvard Resident during their time at Education First Consulting.

Before entering the consulting field, Dr. King was a Doctoral Student at Harvard University Graduate School of Education. During this time, they worked on initiatives to improve family engagement and increase achievement in diverse student populations in different school districts.

Earlier in their career, Dr. King served as a School Principal and Assistant Principal at the Independence School District. Dr. Anthony M. provided leadership and managed daily operations at Mill Creek Elementary, where they analyzed student performance data and identified areas for improvement. Dr. Anthony M. also modified the general education curriculum for special-needs students and conducted observations to evaluate staff performance.

Dr. Anthony M. King has an extensive education history. Dr. Anthony M. began their academic journey by obtaining a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1999, completing the program in 2004.

Dr. Anthony M. continued their education at the same institution and pursued a Master of Education (M.Ed.) with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. King successfully completed this program from 2005 to 2008.

Seeking further specialization in educational leadership, they attended the University of Central Missouri from 2010 to 2012. During this time, they earned an Education Specialist of Administration degree.

Dr. Anthony M. King further extended their academic pursuits by attending the prestigious Harvard Graduate School of Education from 2015 to 2018. Dr. Anthony M. successfully completed the Doctor of Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) program.

In addition to their formal education, Dr. King has obtained various certifications to enhance their professional skills. Dr. Anthony M. received a State of California Teaching Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing in July 2020. Furthermore, they acquired a Data Wise Coach certification from the Data Wise Project in April 2018. Dr. King also holds a State of Missouri Administration PreK-8 certification and a State of Missouri Teacher 1-6 certification from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Moreover, they have been certified as a Leadership Circle Profile Coach by the Leadership Circle institution.
