Jorge R. Leis has extensive experience in both corporate and non-profit sectors. Currently, Jorge serves as a Member of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Development Committee at The Leakey Foundation, focusing on funding research related to human origins. Previously, Jorge had a long tenure at Bain & Company, culminating in retirement in January 2025. Additionally, Jorge holds the position of Board Member and Vice Chair at The National GEM Consortium, which promotes graduate education in applied science and engineering for underrepresented communities. Jorge is also a Board of Trustees member at Science Friday. Early in the career, Jorge worked as a Research Engineer at Shell Oil Company. Jorge's academic credentials include a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School, a Sc.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Arizona State University.
