Olivia Harrison has a diverse work experience spanning various sectors. Olivia is currently the Chief Executive Officer at the Learned Society of Wales since February 2022. Prior to this, Olivia served as the Head of Research, Innovation, and Engagement at the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) from June 2019 to February 2022, and as the External Engagement Manager - Research & Innovation (secondment) from December 2018 to June 2019.
At Universities Wales, Olivia held the position of Policy Advisor - Research and Innovation from October 2017 to December 2018, Political and Public Affairs Policy Adviser from February 2016 to October 2017, and Policy Adviser from March 2015 to February 2016.
Before transitioning to the education sector, Olivia gained experience in the field of structural engineering. Olivia worked at Lucking & Clark LLP as a Chartered Structural Engineer from November 2012 to May 2013, and as a Structural Engineer from November 2010 to November 2012. Prior to that, they were a Graduate Structural Engineer at Arup from September 2008 to November 2010.
Olivia also served as a Project Manager - Talent, Enterprise & Development at the National Centre for Universities and Business (NCUB) from May 2013 to March 2015.
Olivia Harrison attended The Alice Ottley School in Worcester from 1997 to 2004. Olivia then pursued their Master of Engineering (MEng) degree with a specialization in Civil Engineering at Durham University from 2004 to 2008.
