The Learning Community
Tatiana Baena currently serves as the Senior Finance Officer for Data Systems and Analysis at the Rhode Island Department of Education, starting in December 2023. In addition, Tatiana has been an elected Councilperson At Large for the City Of Central Falls since January 2021 and co-owns Booth On Main. Tatiana also provides translation services for Spanish-speaking families at The Learning Community Charter School. Prior experience includes roles as the Director of Grants and Federal Programs and Director of Enrichment Opportunities for the Central Falls School District, focusing on out-of-school programs and grant management. Tatiana contributed as Family Support Chief for the Pawtucket/Central Falls Incident Command System during the COVID-19 pandemic and held various positions, including Vice Chair of the City of Central Falls Planning Board and District Scheduler for Congressman David N. Cicilline. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Rhode Island and a high school diploma from Central Falls High School.

The Learning Community is a K-8 public school proving poverty is not a barrier to achievement. We serve over 450 students in our school and hundreds of other teachers and students in the schools where we work as professional development partners. This work fulfills our bold mission: At The Learning Community, we believe that literacy empowers each individual to have a voice, assume community responsibility and take social action.
