LeiLani Cauthen has over 30 years of experience in the technology industry. LeiLani began their career in 1987 as Western Region Manager at Government Technology, where they developed new accounts and expanded them with sales of additional products. LeiLani sold advertising and events to high tech companies including Microsoft, Dell, Oracle and many others, and helped clients in selling and guiding marketing through detailed understanding of bidding and competitive posture to win. In 2000, they took on the role of Sales Executive and SLED Mktg at Entrust, where they sold products and services in the security software space, mainly Public Key Infrastructure security software and Privilege Management Software. LeiLani worked with and through integrators and resellers on major deals, and ran field marketing direction and promotion for the vertical industries served in coordination with corporate-level marketing. In 2003, they joined e.Republic, Inc. as Publisher and VP Sales for the Center for Digital Education, where they hired and mentored a team selling subscription online service, advertising, market research, advisory services, events and go-to-market strategies including sales training and playbooks. LeiLani also used Salesforce to track and target volume outgoing calls, visits, pipeline and sales, and created market briefings which they presented to hundreds of industry and target market participants. In 2013, they became the CEO and Publisher of The Learning Counsel, and in 2015 they founded Knowstory.

LeiLani Cauthen attended Bemidji State University from 1984 to 1984, studying Communications. LeiLani then attended California State University-Sacramento from 1985 to 1990, studying Communications/Journalism.
