Schottelkotte has a robust background in covering courts, city government, real estate, business, and law enforcement. Notable achievements include impactful investigative reporting that has resulted in statewide changes to the Crimestoppers program and the successful prosecution of a city manager and a public works manager for theft and official misconduct. Prior to The Ledger, Schottelkotte worked as a Reporter/Staff Writer at The Tampa Tribune from August 1981 to April 1984.
