Elena Landriscina is a legal professional with extensive experience in criminal law reform and advocacy for individuals with mental illness. Since September 2020, Elena has served as Supervising Attorney in the Special Litigation Unit at The Legal Aid Society, following a role as Staff Attorney in the same unit focused on criminal defense. Prior experience includes serving as a Staff Attorney at Disability Rights New York, where advocacy for mental health was a key focus, and as a Legal Fellow at the New York Civil Liberties Union. Additional roles include membership in the UNROW Human Rights Impact Litigation Clinic and legal internships at The Legal Aid Society and Global Workers Justice Alliance. Elena holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from American University Washington College of Law, a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and a Bachelor's degree in English and American Literature from New York University.
