Russell Novack is a highly experienced legal professional with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as the Senior Staff Attorney at the Legal Aid Society since 2003, Russell represents defendants facing quality of life offenses at the Midtown Community Court in New York City, focusing on alternative sentencing solutions. Prior to this role, Russell was the Executive Director of the Manhattan Treatment Court from 1998 to 2003, overseeing the establishment of drug treatment courts. As the Director of Criminal Justice Services for the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation from 1994 to 1998, Russell implemented the city’s first contagious disease screening program in central booking facilities. Earlier in the career, Russell held positions in the New York City Mayor's office as an Assistant Criminal Justice Coordinator and served as a Staff Attorney at the Legal Aid Society.
