Isaac Chute has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Isaac currently holds the position of Director of Software Ecosystem RISC-V at The Linux Foundation, where they started in March 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Timescale as a Senior Manager Engineering from April 2022 to February 2023.
Isaac's longest tenure was at Red Hat, where they held multiple roles over a span of more than 10 years. Isaac started as a Hardware Product Manager (Storage) in May 2011 and gradually progressed to more senior positions. Isaac served as Manager, Hardware Product Management/Engineering Partner Management from May 2012 to June 2016, followed by Manager Engineering Partner Management Emerging Technologies from June 2016 to April 2022. In their roles at Red Hat, they managed various strategic partnerships, drove technical engagements, and expanded partner programs.
Prior to Red Hat, Isaac worked at EMC from December 2007 to May 2011. Isaac held the positions of Principal Storage Product Manager and Senior Engineering Program Manager, where they oversaw the development of storage software products.
Before EMC, Isaac worked at Hewlett-Packard in various roles from May 1998 to March 2007. Isaac started as an EMEA Presales Technical Support Consultant and later became the Release Product Manager for Tru64 UNIX Operating System. In their final role at HP, they served as the Senior Program Manager - Regional Liaison Manager for the Americas.
Isaac began their career at Apple Computers as a Software Test Engineer - International Software Localization QA from August 1997 to April 1998, where they were responsible for testing internationalized versions of MacOS 8.0.
Isaac Chute attended University College Cork from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a B.A. degree in Italian/CS. Additionally, Isaac has obtained certifications in Pragmatic Marketing from Pragmatic Marketing in April 2016 and Red Hat Certified System Administrator in Red Hat OpenStack from Red Hat University in January 2015.
