Matt W.

Matt W. serves as the General Manager of AI at The Linux Foundation and the Executive Director at PyTorch, both since 2024. Additionally, Matt holds the position of Director for the Generative AI Commons at the LF AI & Data Foundation and is a Member of the Board of Directors at the Metaverse Standards Forum, a role maintained since 2022. As a Co-Founder and Chair of the Open Metaverse Foundation, Matt has been influential since its inception in 2006. Matt is also a Reader in Data Science at the University of California, Berkeley, Founder and CEO of Berkeley Synthetic, and has led the Silicon Valley Generative AI user group since its establishment in 2017. Furthermore, Matt co-leads The GenAI Collective and previously served as Head of Artificial Intelligence and Data at Amdocs. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA from the University of Denver, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from York University.
