The Listening Place
Rachel Wilmot is a skilled professional with diverse experience in visitor support, marketing, and communications. Currently serving as Senior Visitor Support Coordinator at The Listening Place since October 2020, Rachel plays a crucial role in providing face-to-face listening support for individuals in distress. Previously, Rachel worked at NMC Recordings Ltd as both Recordings and Marketing Co-ordinator and Label Assistant, offering administrative support across various functions of the record label. Rachel's marketing experience includes roles at FACT, Enactus Liverpool, The Social Partnership, and The Bluecoat, where responsibilities ranged from developing social media strategies to producing promotional materials and executing campus-wide marketing campaigns. Rachel holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychotherapy and Counselling from Regent's University London and a First Class Honours BA in Communication, Media and Popular Music from the University of Liverpool.

The Listening Place
The Listening Place currently supports around 2,000 people on an ongoing basis each month across three London sites (Pimlico, Kings Cross and Hammersmith), with a fourth site due to open in Liverpool Street in summer 2025. TLP offers a warm, non-judgmental and completely confidential setting in which people can speak openly about wanting to end their own lives. Carefully selected and trained volunteers deliver fortnightly, 50-minute appointments, supporting visitors for at least three months and up to a year. TLP is open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year except Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Since the charity was founded in 2016, it has received over 30,000 referrals.
