Joelle Van der Walt has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and healthcare. Joelle is currently working at Lockwood as a Senior Scientific Content Director. Prior to that, they held the position of Scientific Director at PRI Healthcares. Joelle also served as a Scientific Director at the International Psoriasis Council for four years. Joelle has experience working with pharmaceutical companies, as they were a Clinical Research Scientist at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare and a Senior Scientist, Quality Specialist/Scientific Affairs and Communications at Gentris Corporation. Joelle has also worked as a Medical Writer at Joule Clinical on a Merck contract. Joelle started their career as a Post Doc/Research Scientist at Duke University Medical Center and also worked as a grad student at the Frederick Cancer and Development Center.
Joelle Van der Walt completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania between 1986 and 1991. Joelle then pursued a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences at Hood College from 1994 to 1996. Later, they enrolled at the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria, where they obtained a PhD in Microbiology/Molecular Evolution from 1996 to 2000.
