Juan M Cardenas M. is an experienced veterinary nurse with a diverse background in animal care, currently working at The Lost Dogs' Home and Veterinary Referral Hospital since October 2020. With a degree in Veterinary Medicine (MVZ) focusing on exotic animals and unconventional pets from UPTC, Juan has held various roles, including Head of Veterinary Services at San Martin Veterinary Hospital & Lab and independent veterinary consultant for small and exotic animals. Additional experience includes veterinary positions at Centro Veterinario Fauna, Clínica Veterinaria San Martin, and participation in marine turtle conservation projects. Juan is committed to obtaining professional veterinary certification in Australia and holds a diploma in Leadership and Management from the Central Melbourne Institute.

Since 1910 The Lost Dogs’ Home has been a voice for animals without owners. They've been pioneers for fair animal laws and continue to work at the front line to reduce the number of lost, abandoned and stray cats and dogs. The Home relies on public support to provide their Australia-wide services and programs, including: National Pet Register, The Lost Cats’ Home, shelter operations, adoptions and responsible pet ownership education.
