Rory Lancman is currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Nassau County Interim Finance Authority and President of the Great Neck Library, while also holding the position of Director of Corporate Initiatives & Senior Counsel at The Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law. Rory Lancman has been practicing law as an Attorney At Law since April 2022 and previously held the role of Executive Director for the NYS Legislative Commission on the Future of the Long Island Power Authority until December 2023. Between November 2020 and April 2022, Rory Lancman was NYS Special Counsel for Ratepayer Protection at the New York State Department of Public Service, advocating for consumers’ interests in the energy sector. Earlier in the career, Rory Lancman served as a Council Member in the New York City Council from January 2014 to November 2020 and as an Assembly Member in the New York State Assembly from January 2007 to December 2012. Rory Lancman earned a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Columbia Law School and holds multiple Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degrees in Political Science and Government from Queens College.
