John Davidson

President & Alternate Governor, New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden Entertainment

One of the most popular figures in franchise history, John Davidson returned to the Rangers organization as the 11th President in franchise history on May 17, 2019.

As President and Alternate Governor, Mr. Davidson oversees all facets of the franchise’s business and hockey operations. This includes developing and executing an effective long-term strategy to support the team’s on-ice success, as well as driving the organization’s day-to-day activities that maximize revenue, strengthen the team’s connection to its fans and partners, and help grow the game.

Mr. Davidson joined the Rangers’ front office after spending seven seasons as the President of Hockey Operations for the Columbus Blue Jackets. During his tenure with the Blue Jackets, Mr. Davidson oversaw the most successful years of the franchise’s 18-season history, including going from the fewest points in the NHL to posting a winning record in six of his seven seasons. The team also advanced to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in four of Mr. Davidson’s seven seasons, including each of the final three seasons.
