Emily Bader is an experienced reporter currently working at The Maine Monitor/Maine Center for Public Interest Reporting since April 2023. Previously, Bader served as a health care reporter for Sun Journal - Sun Media Group from April 2021 to April 2023, where significant investigative work on the opioid epidemic's impact on children and families in Maine was conducted. Bader's reporting career also includes a role at The Forecaster, covering multiple towns and school districts in Cumberland County. In addition to reporting, Bader has a background in research, media, and education, including founding Grit Weekly to amplify young women's voices and supporting students as a transfer mentor at Wellesley College. Bader holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations–History from Wellesley College and has gained diverse experience through multiple internships and roles in academic organizations.
