Emily Porter

Emily Porter is a skilled researcher and social media coordinator with extensive experience in journalism. Currently serving as a Researcher at the Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce since April 2024, Emily focuses on the organization's history while contributing articles to the monthly newsletter. Emily has been with The Manhattan Mercury since May 2017, where responsibilities include analyzing audience engagement and maintaining communication with the newsroom as a Social Media Coordinator, during which time Emily also held roles as an Education Reporter and Crime Reporter. Previous experience includes a news reporting position at Collegian Media Group, internships at The Manhattan Mercury, and a news intern role at The Cowley Courier Traveler. Emily holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Kansas State University, completed in 2017.
