The Marlowe
The Marlowe is Kent’s regional theatre. As one of the UK’s most successful touring venues, we present a rich and diverse programme of drama, musicals, dance, opera, music, pantomime, new writing, poetry and comedy in our state-of-the-art Theatre and Studio. The Marlowe’s mission is to be the engine house for the performing arts in Kent, shaping the spirit of our region. Our ground-breaking work with young people focuses on skills development and includes technical apprenticeships, co-delivery of a UAL Level 3 Performing Arts course with East Kent College Group; being the national home of Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures’ Cygnet School and the RSC’s Associate Theatre in the Southeast. We recently launched our Writers Room, developing regional talent and supporting our producing aspirations. We are an independent self-funding charitable trust, raising all our income ourselves without any core revenue funding from statutory bodies, reinvesting our profits in to our work with artists, young people and our communities. Above all, we value our team, and our award-winning People Plan is there to ensure that everyone who works for us is rewarded and supported.
