Saumya Shekhar

Student Space Ambassador at The Mars Generation

Saumya Shekhar is an accomplished aerospace engineering professional with a diverse range of experiences in space technology and research. Currently, Saumya serves as a member of the Rocket team at TU Darmstadt Space Technology e.V., contributing to the FRODO-J rocket project in preparation for the 2024 EUROC event. Saumya is also involved with the Space Generation Advisory Council, focusing on greenhouse gas monitoring as part of the Small Satellite group. Previous roles include serving as a Student Space Ambassador for The Mars Generation, an FPV Pilot for the Indian Drone Racing League, and a Citizen Scientist at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Saumya has held research positions at Jet Aerospace Aviation Research Center, Astrophilia, and the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (ISRO). Saumya's educational background includes a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Technische Universität Darmstadt and a Bachelor of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering from SRM IST Chennai.
