Geoff Hing

Geoff Hing is a skilled data reporter with extensive experience in journalism and data analysis. Currently serving as a Data Reporter for The Marshall Project since July 2022, Geoff has previously held positions at The Arizona Republic as a Data & Demographics Reporter and at American Public Media Group as a Data Reporter for APM Reports. Earlier roles include Senior News Applications Developer at Chicago Tribune Media Group and Lead Developer at OpenElections and the Floodlight Project, where Geoff contributed to the development of web platforms and tools for data visualization and extraction. Additionally, freelance work involved implementing data processing pipelines and custom mapping solutions. Geoff holds a Master of Science in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from The Ohio State University.
