Matt S. Gilbert

Matt S. Gilbert is a professor at the University of Arizona. He is also head of the school’s department of American Indian studies. After graduating from The Master’s University in 1999, Matt received a M.A. and a Ph.D. in history from the University of California at Riverside. He has written several books on the Hopi Tribe of Southeastern Arizona. He and his wife Kylene — also a TMU alum — have four children. Matt joined the TMUS board in 2021.
