Hiro Tien is a seasoned entrepreneur and executive with experience in corporate development, venture capital, and founding and leading companies. In 2021, they joined Smartly.io as Global Vice President of Corporate Development. Prior to that, they were Co-Founder and CEO of Viralspace.ai, which was acquired by Smartly.io in May 2021. In 2018, they were Co-Founder of The MBA Fund, an MBA Intern at Google's Venture Capital, an Associate at Box, and a Research Project PT at Uncork Capital (formerly SoftTech VC) through the InSITE Fellowship. In 2011, they founded and served as CEO of SocialBuzz Technologies, an internet company that runs one of Brunei's largest e-commerce sites. In 2015, they founded and served as CEO of Escape Square, a Sherlock-themed escape game establishment offering real-life mystery crime games.

Hiro Tien's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, a Master of Business Administration from Stanford University Graduate School of Business, a Master of Science from Stanford University (which they dropped out of), a Certificate in New Ventures Leadership from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a CORe: Credential of Readiness from Harvard Business School Online, and three additional certifications from edX and MITx, an online learning initiative of The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
