Andrew Neilson

Andrew Neilson has extensive experience in software engineering and management roles. Andrew started their career as a software developer co-op at NeoEdge Networks, Agfa Healthcare, and Research In Motion. Andrew then worked as a software tools developer co-op at Research In Motion. Andrew joined Tagged as a software engineering intern, where they worked on reporting site analytics and later focused on front-end development and internationalization. Andrew progressed to become a senior software engineer, responsible for building applications to detect and prevent spam. At if(we), Andrew worked as an engineering manager, leading a small team to develop infrastructure for spam detection and prevention. Andrew also took on the role of a director of engineering at The Meet Group, overseeing search engine development. Andrew has a strong skill set that includes Scala, SBT, Maven, Jenkins, Git, Vim, and Kafka.

Andrew Neilson attended the University of Waterloo from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Computer Science.
