Katie Heaton

Katie Heaton is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at The Menkiti Group. In her role, Katie manages corporate operations for the family of companies, including a multi-services real estate and development company, a local mortgage lending company, as well as a residential brokerage firm.

Prior to joining the company, Katie was the Executive Director to the Washington Homeland Security Roundtable and a Founding Member of the Washington Cyber Roundtable, an organization focused on promoting collaboration between federal agencies and corporate leaders across numerous industries. Before joining the Washington Homeland Security Roundtable she served as Special Assistant to the CEO of Venturehouse Group where she managed the CEO’s office including the direction of all special projects. She has also served as Deputy Director of the Office of Business Liaison at the Department of Commerce and Special Assistant to the Secretary. In these roles, she provided guidance on policy initiatives for the private sector community including economics and homeland security issues.

She also worked at the Department of Homeland Security focusing on public/private partnerships for the Homeland Security Advisory Council. Prior to public service, Katie worked at JPMorgan in the Private Client Group and Portfolio Management in the New York City and Washington, DC offices.

She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and resides with her husband, Will, and two children in Alexandria, Virginia.
