Karen Cook

Director, Healthy Families & Thriving Communities at The MetroHealth System

Karen Cook is an experienced public health professional with a career spanning over three decades. Currently serving as Director of Healthy Families & Thriving Communities at The MetroHealth System since April 2014, Karen leads community health improvement initiatives and has effectively managed teams focused on addressing health disparities in Cuyahoga County. Prior to this, Karen held the position of Senior Program Officer at The Nord Family Foundation, overseeing a $2 million annual grant portfolio in health and social services. Karen's early career includes roles as a Technical Training Coordinator and Health/Sanitation Extensionist with the Peace Corps, as well as a Case Manager at Pathways: Service Coordination and Advocacy. Karen holds a Master of Public Health from the University of South Carolina School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The College of Wooster.
