Margarita Diaz

Margarita Diaz, MSN, RN has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Their most recent role was as the Director of Health Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity at The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH. In this position, they played a key role in driving culturally competent care and health equity through inclusion and diversity initiatives.

Prior to their current role, Margarita served as a Nurse Manager in Ambulatory Surgical Services at The MetroHealth System from 2012 to 2015. Margarita also worked as a Patient Care Manager at Cleveland Clinic in 2011 and as a Clinical Nurse Liaison/Sales and Marketing at Select Medical Corporation in 2011.

Margarita has experience in account management as a Clinical Account Manager at Kinetic Concepts from 2009 to 2011. Additionally, they worked as an Independent Contractor of Home Health Services/Medicaid Waiver provider for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services from 2000 to 2009, where they achieved excellent chart audit scores.

Their early career included roles as a Pediatric Nursing Specialist at MCH Services from 1999 to 2000 and a Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse at University Hospitals' Rainbow Babies and Children's from 1998 to 1999.

Margarita started their career at MetroHealth Medical Center as a Medical Team Assistant in the OB/GYN and Fetal Diagnostic Center/Labor & Delivery department from 1991 to 1998. Margarita also served as an Executive Administrative Assistant at the same medical center from 1989 to 1991.

Throughout their career, Margarita has demonstrated expertise in project management, quality improvement, and clinical care. Their experience has equipped their with the skills necessary to drive inclusive and equitable healthcare practices.

Margarita Diaz, MSN, RN obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Ursuline College in 1998. Margarita later pursued a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Executive Leadership at Chamberlain University, completing their degree in 2018.
