Michael Phillips

Michael Phillips has served as Chief Legal Officer for MetroHealth since September 2012.

In this role, Phillips is responsible for all legal affairs of The MetroHealth System.

He previously was a partner with Calfee, Halter & Griswold LLP, where he served as co-chair of the Health Care and Life Sciences group. He has worked with a wide range of health care clients and his principal practice areas are counseling on health care regulatory matters, nonprofit governance issues and representing public hospitals. He is a member of the American Bar Association's Health Law, Business Law and Tax Sections and is an active member of the American Health Lawyers Association.

Phillips received his juris doctor degree from the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary, and his bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia.
