James Varsallone

James Varsallone is an accomplished sports reporter and photographer with extensive experience spanning several decades. Currently at Miami Herald Media Company since June 1994, James has contributed to the sports desk and digital content creation. Previous roles include features writer and photographer for RAG Magazine, where interviews with regional and national music artists were conducted, as well as various positions in the pro wrestling domain for publications like WOW Magazine and Pro Wrestling Digest. Additionally, James served as a baseball writer and photographer for Yankees Magazine and wrote features for Red, White & Green Sports, highlighting Italian American athletes. Starting in journalism at Gulfstream Newspapers, James advanced from freelance sports reporter to sports editor over a decade. Academically, James holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication from Barry University, with prior studies at Coker College and American University.
