The Miami Hurricane
Layomi Adeojo has a diverse range of work experiences in journalism and student ambassadorship. Starting in 2017, Layomi worked as a Staff Writer for the Reading Eagle Company, where they wrote editorials and feature articles and served on the Executive Board. In 2019, Layomi was selected as a Student Reporter for the Asian American Journalists Association's JCamp, attending workshops and authoring a feature story. They then gained experience at the University of Miami, working as a Research Assistant in the SHINE Research Lab and the Social Cognition Lab. In 2020, Layomi joined The Miami Hurricane as a Staff Writer for the Arts & Entertainment section. They quickly advanced to the role of Assistant Arts & Entertainment Editor, where they edited and published articles, managed writer communications, and co-led section meetings. Most recently, Layomi became a President's 100 Student Ambassador for the University of Miami, representing the university through campus tours and recruitment events. They also recently began working as a First Year Fellow in the Office of Academic Enhancement.
Layomi Adeojo attended Schuylkill Valley High School from 2016 to 2020, where they obtained a High School Diploma. They later enrolled at the University of Miami in 2020 and are currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Psychology & English Literature with a focus on Creative Writing.

The Miami Hurricane is the student newspaper of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Fla. The newspaper is edited and produced by undergraduate students at UM and is published semi-weekly on Mondays and Thursdays during the regular academic year.
