Gaia Skibinski is an accomplished neuroscience professional currently serving as the Director of Discovery and Translation at The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, focusing on translational efforts to validate targets and therapeutics for Parkinson’s disease. Previously, Gaia held the position of SVP Biology at Herophilus, where contributions included co-building a proprietary high-throughput human organoid-based drug discovery platform and developing strategies for new drug targets across multiple neurological conditions. Earlier experience at the Gladstone Institutes involved roles as VP Biology and Principal Scientist, with a focus on disease model development and automated imaging platforms, as well as establishing neuronal models to study Parkinson's disease mechanisms during a postdoctoral fellowship. Gaia earned a PhD in Neurological Studies from the Institute of Neurology in London and a BA in Biological Sciences from Magdalen College, Oxford University.
