Byung-Hak Kim

Byung-Hak (HaK) Kim currently serves as Vice President of the Financial AI Lab at Hyundai Card since July 2025, where bold AI innovation is prioritized in the finance sector. Byung-Hak is also a Board Member and Limited Partner at MYSC, along with roles as a Tech Advisor and Guest Writer for The Miilk. Previously, Byung-Hak held the position of Vice President at the AI Center for CJ Corporation, leading AI strategies and R&D, and contributed significantly to advancements in large language models and generative AI. Prior experience includes serving as AI Technology Lead at AKASA, where Byung-Hak drove machine learning innovations in healthcare, and as a Staff AI Research Scientist at Udacity, focusing on AI research for personalized learning experiences. Byung-Hak’s earlier career includes roles at Capio, Marvell Semiconductor, and Texas A&M University, with a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University and both an MS and BS in Electrical Engineering from Korea University.
