Julia Barnes has a long history of progressive work experience. Julia began their career in 2008 as Deputy Field Director for New Hampshire for John Lynch 2008. In 2009, they were State Field Director for the Democratic National Committee's Organizing for America. From 2012 to 2017, they served as Executive Director for the Vermont Democratic Party, where they managed candidate support, fundraising, data management, staff management, political outreach, and communications. In 2017, they earned their MBA in Sustainable Innovation from the University of Vermont Grossman School of Business. That same year, they served as Campaign Manager for Tom Perriello for Virginia and as Founder for JPKB llc. In 2018, they were Senior Advisor for Be A Hero and in 2022, they were appointed Chief Executive Officer for The Movement Cooperative.
Julia Barnes received their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Sustainability and Innovation from the University of Vermont Grossman School of Business in 2018. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's degree in Women's Studies and Political Science from The George Washington University in 2005.
