Editor In Chief at The National News

Mina Al-Oraibi has a significant and diverse work experience. Mina is currently the Editor in Chief at The National since July 2017. Prior to this role, they were a Yale World Fellow at the Yale World Fellows program starting from August 2015. From January 2016 to March 2017, they served as a Senior Fellow at the Institute for State Effectiveness. Before that, they held the position of Assistant Editor in Chief at Asharq Alawsat, a leading pan-Arab newspaper, where they were responsible for various editorial and managerial tasks from November 2011 to August 2015. Additionally, they worked at Asharq Alawsat Newspaper as the Bureau Chief in Washington DC, covering American domestic and foreign policy, from May 2009 to November 2011. Mina also had the role of Current Affairs Journalist at the same newspaper from September 2005 to May 2009, with a focus on political and diplomatic developments, particularly in London and Iraq.

Mina Al-Oraibi pursued their education at UCL, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in History from 1999 to 2002. Following this, they furthered their studies at UCL and earned an MA Hons degree in Modern History between 2002 and 2004.
