Deputy Director - US And Canada Carbon Markets Team at The Nature Conservancy

Barry Ulrich has extensive experience in conservation and finance. Barry is currently the Deputy Director of the US and Canada Carbon Markets Team at The Nature Conservancy, where they lead efforts to deliver climate and biodiversity impacts through various programs and projects. Prior to this, they worked as a Conservation Finance Specialist at the same organization.

Before joining The Nature Conservancy, Barry founded and currently oversees ITA Ventures LLC, which is the first railcar leasing business in Brasil. Barry has successfully grown the company from a $150,000 seed capital to a fleet of 388 railcars generating over $7 million in revenues.

Barry also worked at Global Environment Fund as a Managing Director, responsible for identifying and closing private equity investments for a sustainable forestry fund. Barry was previously an Investment Officer at the same organization.

Additionally, they have experience as a Management Consultant at Coopers and Lybrand LLP, Rand McNally and Company, and Andersen Consulting.

Barry Ulrich earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Operations Management from Eastern Illinois University from 1985 to 1989. Later, from 1993 to 1995, they attended Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management and completed their Master's in Business Administration (MBA) with a specialization in International Business, Investments, and Corporate Finance.
